Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the U-Pass program:

· The university or college must be nationally or regionally accredited by a United States Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency.
· The main physical campus must be located in Allegheny County.
· The student body must have at least 2,000 students.

Effective March 2022, all universities or colleges joining our U-Pass program will use mobile ticketing through our Ready2Ride mobile application.

Participating Institutions

The following institutions of higher education are participating in the U-Pass program:

University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, Chatham University, Duquesne University, and Carlow University

Students, staff, and faculty at the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and Chatham University may ride any of our vehicles at any time simply by tapping their valid, unexpired university-issued ID cards* on the farebox or validator.

Students at Duquesne University and students, staff, and faculty at Carlow University may ride any of our vehicles at any time simply by tapping their valid Ready2Ride U-Pass on the validator.

Point Park University and Robert Morris University

Students, staff and faculty at Point Park University and Robert Morris University pay $1 cash by showing their valid, unexpired school-issued ID cards during the following times:

 

Mobile Ticketing Pilot

Point Park University will be participating in a mobile ticketing pilot with a small group of students and staff this fall.
