Port Authority service information for May 6-7
Saturday, May 6:
Port Authority buses will be detoured from 7 a.m. until about noon, during which time all buses will operate in the bus lane that runs along Smithfield Street.
Two-car trains will operate from 4 p.m. until the end of service to accommodate those attending the Pirates game at PNC Park.
Sunday, May 7:
All service will be detoured at the start of the day, with additional service beginning about 5 a.m. on the East Busway, West Busway, inclines, and light rail system to assist participants traveling to the marathon start line.
Most buses will drop passengers off at Penn Station Stop B and pick passengers up at Penn Station Stop C. The P1 bus route will pick up and drop off at Penn Station Stop A.
Buses will go no farther into Downtown than the end of the busway, however, a rail shuttle will operate between Penn Station and Steel Plaza. Riders can then transfer to inbound trains heading toward the North Shore.
Because the 61-series buses will be unable to serve Oakland, a shuttle bus will operate between the intersection of Sennot Street and Oakland Avenue in Oakland and the intersection of Beacon and Murdoch streets in Squirrel Hill.
Additionally, an 88-Penn Special bus line will operate between Penn Station and both UPMC Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville and West Penn Hospital in Bloomfield.
The 89-Garfield Commons will not be in operation.
Two-car light rail trains will operate from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Due to the enormity of the detours, signage will not be posted at bus stops, and all additional service is contingent upon available manpower.
Complete information on detours and extra service for both days is available on our Detours page (under rider services) or by calling Customer Service at 412-442-2000 or 412-231-7007 for TTY.
