Lost and Found


Oh, no! You've lost your umbrella, cell phone or wallet on the bus or T.


We've all been there.

Our operators regularly find items of personal or monetary value on their vehicles and turn them in at their division after their shift is over.

Items that are considered non-valuable, like umbrellas, glasses, jackets and book bags, are kept at the division at which the vehicle is maintained. The items are stored under lock-and-key for 30 days from the day they're found.

Please contact Customer Service at 412-442-2000, or 412-231-7007 for TTY, so a Customer Service Representative can determine if your item has been found.

If we have your property, you will be able to claim your item at the division between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Items valued at more than $300, including laptops, wallets and purses containing more than $300 cash and prescription medications, will be kept at the division at which the vehicle is maintained for 24 hours. After 24 hours, the item will be transported to the Port Authority Police Department, where it will be stored in the property room.

If, after calling Customer Service, it is determined that your property is located at the Port Authority Police Department, you may call 412-255-1385 to schedule a time to pick up your property.

All persons picking up lost items from the division or the Port Authority Police Department must show ID.

This policy is effective January 1, 2016.
