Getting around town on race weekend can be challenging, so we've provided information to help you as you travel in and around the city. We look forward to seeing participants, volunteers and spectators fill our streets on race weekend!

Port Authority bus service will be extensively detoured the weekend of May 3-5 for the 2019 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon and related events. We recommend that customers allow for extra travel time.

Detours will begin about noon on Friday, May 3, with various road closures impacting service through 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.

Fare Information

Port Authority strongly recommends that marathon participants and spectators purchase fares in advance to decrease travel times and avoid long lines at ConnectCard machines.

Customers can load stored cash value or purchase passes at Downtown light rail stations, online or at dozens of local retailers (click here for a list of locations).

Monongahela Incline

The Mon Incline remains out of service due to flooding caused by multiple Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority water main breaks earlier this year. Please see below for daily service information.

Duquesne Incline

The Duquesne Incline is operating normally, however, a Duquesne Incline shuttle is operating to take customers from the upper station of the Duquesne Incline to the upper station of the Monongahela Incline. The Duquesne Incline shuttle operates from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is free to ride.

TrueTime

TrueTime vehicle tracking will not be reliably available on buses that are detoured.
