Port Authority workers prepare the new Olympia Center Shopping Center Park and Ride lot in McKeesport which opened June 1, 2007.
On Friday, June 1, Port Authority opened a new 81 space Park and Ride lot at the Olympia Shopping Center in McKeesport.
The new Park and Ride replaces the lot closed on May 31, 2007 located at the former Ames store.
Port Authority’s Facilities Department worked hard to prepare the site for the grand opening. The workers striped the lot, installed new signage and are preparing to erect a new bus shelter for customers.
The Olympia Shopping Center Park and Ride is serviced by three Port Authority routes: the 67J, 68J and 58V.
Customers are reminded that the Park and Ride spaces are designated with blue paint. Parking in other areas of the shopping center is not permitted and offenders may be tagged and/or towed.
“We are very grateful to the Olympia Shopping Center management for understanding the importance of transit and helping Port Authority customers make a seamless transition from the former lot across the street,” said Darcy Cleaver, Port Authority’s information administrator.
