The eastern corridor accounts for approximately 40 percent of Port Authority’s public transit service in Allegheny County. The eastern corridor is an area of significant and continuing growth. This study is identifying ways in which the region can build upon the existing transportation infrastructure to enhance mobility and economic development in the eastern corridor of Allegheny County and the western corridor of Westmoreland County.
Previous studies of the area have identified some of the corridor's needs and some potential transit solutions that could address those needs. The ECTS is incorporating public input from previous studies of the corridor into the results of this study.
