The Strategic Regional Transit Visioning Study for Southwestern Pennsylvania

Port Authority and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) completed the Strategic Regional Transit Visioning Study, also known as the 20/20 Transit Vision Study, in Spring 2006. The study effort identifies transportation needs, recommends a menu of transportation options, and encourages smart growth planning for Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The study was led by Port Authority and SPC in cooperation with the region’s public transportation providers, Heinz Endowments, Allegheny Conference for Economic Development, Port of Pittsburgh Commission and other community partners. The study includes significant public participation and input. Funding for the study included grants from the Heinz Endowments, Port Authority and the other study partners.

The map indicates the 11 different transit agencies that provide transit service to areas within the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.
