Details of the upcoming public hearings to discuss the proposed fare and service changes

Port Authority of Allegheny County will hold a series of public hearings throughout Allegheny County to take public comment on proposed fare and service changes. Service changes are scheduled to be implemented in June 2007; fare changes are scheduled to be implemented January 1, 2008. The schedule for the hearings and the transit routes serving the locations are listed below.

Individuals wishing to testify at the hearings are encouraged to pre-register by calling 412.566.5437 (TTY 412.231.7007) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays. Oral testimony will be limited to three minutes per speaker. Persons who have not pre-registered can register to speak at the hearings and will be called on as time slots become available. Port Authority will provide a sign language interpreter for the public hearing session, as well as Braille copies of all informational documents.

If there are no testimony spots available at the public hearing you wish to attend, you can provide testimony at any of the other public hearings.

Individuals wishing to testify in writing about the proposals should mail their comments to Port Authority Fare and Service Proposals, Heinz 57 Center, 345 Sixth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222-2527. Public comments on the proposals are also being accepted on Port Authority's Web site at www.portauthority.org. Click on "Port Authority Fare and Service Proposals" to submit your comments. Port Authority has set up a comment line to accept public input, call 412.566.5335. The deadline for receipt of public comments is February 9, 2007 at 4:00 p.m.
