Saturday, November 28, 2009

Due to the closure of Rankin Bridge’s walkway, Port Authority has established a free ride zone between Rankin and Whitaker to provide pedestrian access to both ends of the bridge.  The zone will be in effect by Monday, Nov. 9 and will last for the duration of bridge construction.

Pedestrians wishing to cross from Rankin to Whitaker can board the 59A West Mifflin bus on Braddock Avenue at the entrance ramp to Rankin Boulevard.  When traveling in the opposite direction, they can board the 59A on Monongahela Boulevard at #1216.  Signs will be posted at these temporary stops.

Passengers traveling beyond these two points in either direction will be required to pay the appropriate fare.
