Pittsburgh, PA – As part of the Transit Development Plan (TDP) public-input gathering process, Port Authority will unveil its “Tell Us Where To Go” bus Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the Central North Side Neighborhood Council’s Summer Block Party, which will take place between 4 and 8 p.m. near the intersection of Arch Street and North Avenue.

The public is invited to board the 40-foot coach bus to review information, ask questions and provide feedback on their public transit needs and what the study has discovered so far.

The Transit Development Plan is intended to revitalize Port Authority’s bus service – to help the service better match current demand, to make it simpler, faster, more direct and to implement innovative services and practices.

This summer, Port Authority is undertaking a comprehensive initiative to reach out to as many people in as many areas of Allegheny County as possible. Through meetings with community groups and the “Tell Us Where To Go” bus, Port Authority will crisscross the county, presenting the Transit Development Plan and listening to ideas from riders and non-riders alike on making Port Authority’s existing service more efficient and effective.

"This will be a unique opportunity for the public to come out and tell us about their transit needs and how we can best fulfill them,” Assistant General Manager of Service Planning and Development Peter Behrman said. “We are now taking our show on the road and will do so over the next few months.”
