Pittsburgh, PA - North Shore construction work will cause much of the intersection of Allegheny Avenue and Reedsdale Street to close starting Monday, Jan. 25.

The closing is due to the ongoing construction of the North Shore Connector light rail project. The intersection is scheduled to remain partially closed through Saturday, Feb. 20.

Motorists on Reedsdale Avenue will be able to drive through the intersection in the direction of the Rivers Casino. Motorists driving south on Allegheny Avenue will be forced to turn right at Reedsdale. Motorists heading north on Allegheny will have to turn left on North Shore Drive and follow a detour.

This segment of the project includes construction of an above-ground rail line. A new T station will be built over the intersection of Allegheny Avenue and Reedsdale Street. The 1.2-mile T extension is expected to be open in early 2012.
