Pittsburgh, PA – A malfunctioning bearing on a slurry plant conveyor belt has delayed the holing- through of the 500-ton tunnel boring machine into the receiving pit located under Stanwix Street that was scheduled for this morning, Thursday, July 10.
Crews are working to replace the bearing. Once the bearing is replaced, mining will resume and the hole-through will occur later today.
