Port Authority of Allegheny County announces the promotion of Mr. Christopher J. Hess to the position of assistant general manager of legal and corporate services.
Mr. Hess, who has served as the senior staff attorney since joining Port Authority in July 2004, will oversee Port Authority's Legal and Insurance, Grants and Government Affairs, Internal Audit, Transit Police and Security, and System Safety departments.
In his new role, Mr. Hess consolidates functions formerly performed by three senior staff members who recently retired: Chief of Staff Jason Fincke, Director of Legal and Insurance Terrance Henne and Assistant General Manger of Grants and Government Affairs James Barthen.
Before joining Port Authority, Mr. Hess worked as a lawyer for McGuireWoods, LLP and Buchanan Ingersoll Professional Corporation, concentrating in commercial, environmental and class-action litigation. A native of Erie, Pa., Mr. Hess earned both his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Hess, his wife, Colleen, and their two children reside in Washington, Pa.
