A Port Authority emergency response drill simulating a light rail vehicle fire and derailment on the Panhandle Bridge over the Monongahela River is scheduled for 2:15 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2006. The drill, conducted with the City of Pittsburgh Fire and EMS, will not affect regular service later that morning.

Work associated with the replacement of worn rail in two locations near South Hills Junction will alter T operations and detour some Port Authority bus routes beginning Saturday, September 30, 2006 for approximately seven weeks.

The Port Authority Board of Directors today approved agreements that encourage more people from the college community to use public transportation.
