Port Authority will enhance existing service and provide special bus and rail service for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 and associated activities beginning Friday, July 7.

The Allegheny County Transit Council, a volunteer citizens’ advisory council to the Port Authority Board of Directors, has elected a new slate of officers effective July 1, 2006.

The Port Authority Board of Directors today voted to adopt a $347.5 million Fiscal Year 2007 Operating Budget that assumes the maintenance of current fare and service levels and is contingent upon the provision of additional state and local funding.

Port Authority’s Monongahela Incline will be closed Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25, 2006 for routine maintenance.

The following Port Authority bus routes will be detoured due to upcoming events:

Port Authority maintenance crews will close a portion of the T along the Beechview Line on Saturday, June 10, 2006 to replace overhead wire between the Hampshire and Coast stops.

Port Authority announces that schedules on some bus and rail routes will change on Sunday, June 18, 2006. Port Authority adjusts schedules several times a year to improve transfer connections, adjust times between buses and respond to customer suggestions.

Port Authority has installed chemical detection units at its Steel Plaza T Station, devices that are the first of their kind in the system and will alert police and emergency personnel to the presence of numerous harmful substances.

As the official transportation sponsor of the 2006 Three Rivers Arts Festival, Port Authority will provide convenient service to get to and around the festival.
