The Port Authority Board of Directors today approved an amendment to a contract with Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A. (CAF) and CAF USA, Inc. that authorizes the rehabilitation of the final 15 of Port Authority’s original fleet of 55 light rail vehicles (LRVs).

PennDOT will close the bridge that carries Ewing Road over I-79 on Tuesday, May 30, 2006, forcing the suspension of Port Authority 31A Crafton-Carnegie service to Cloverleaf Estates.

Port Authority will operate holiday service on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2006. The Port Authority Service Center at 534 Smithfield Street in Downtown Pittsburgh will be closed. Port Authority Customer Service will be taking telephone calls from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
