Intersection of Stanwix Street and Penn Avenue to Temporarily Close

Pittsburgh, PA – Port Authority will temporarily close the intersection of Penn Avenue and Stanwix Street on between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 29 to facilitate the movement of heavy construction equipment related to removal of tiebacks located near the tunnel boring machine’s receiving pit. The intersection will re-open after 3:00 p.m. to accommodate afternoon rush-hour traffic and will close down again between 7:00 p.m. and midnight.

Portion of Stanwix Street Slated to Reopen

Pittsburgh, PA – Port Authority announced today that the northern end of Stanwix Street between Fort Duquesne Boulevard and the parking garage is scheduled to be reopened by March 11 . Stanwix Street has been closed since July 2007 for construction of the tunnel boring machine receiving pit which is part of the North Shore Connector Project.
