Customers Reminded Some T Project Changes Begin March 3

Port Authority reminds customers that while all changes to T and South Busway service necessitated by the rehabilitation of the Palm Garden Bridge will be in place beginning Sunday, March 4, 2007, pre-construction activities will bring some changes to service on Saturday, March 3.

Street Closures to Cause Detours

The eastbound lanes of Penn Avenue from 5th Avenue to Stanwix Street will close overnight starting Wednesday night, February 28, 2007, causing detours for motorists for approximately two weeks.

Service Changes for March

Port Authority announces that schedules on some bus and rail routes will change on Sunday, March 4, 2007. Port Authority adjusts schedules several times a year to improve transfer connections, adjust times between buses and respond to customer suggestions. These changes are not the result of recent public hearings regarding fare and service changes; those decisions will be made at the March 23 meeting of Port Authority’s Board of Directors.

Holiday Lanes Park and Ride Lot to Close March 2

Due to the sale of the property, Port Authority’s 75-space Holiday Lanes Park and Ride Lot will permanently close at the end of the service day on Friday, March 2, 2007. The bus stop at that location, currently served by the HP Holiday Park Flyer route, will be discontinued.

Bridge Project to Alter T, Bus Service

Port Authority’s rehabilitation of the Palm Garden Bridge, which carries the T and South Busway over Route 51, will begin on Sunday, March 4, 2007 and alter T service for approximately six months and bus service for approximately eight months.
