Port Authority Operators Persevere to Overcome Injuries

It’s a weekday morning along Grandview Avenue, and Port Authority operator Joey Dadum greets passengers as they board his 41E Mt. Washington bus destined for Downtown. Some make small talk with the 17-year veteran, who will work the 26B Fairywood route later in the day.

Port Authority Retirees Celebrate 100th Birthdays

Michael Galido and Irvin W. Taylor, who retired from Port Authority in the late 1960s, were born two days apart in 1906 and began working for Pittsburgh Railways Company, one of Port Authority’s predecessors, 10 days apart in 1924. So it’s only fitting that Port Authority will help them celebrate their 100th birthdays this weekend.
