Future Enhancements

The South Busway has undergone a facelift as part of the Stage II Light Rail Transit Project’s reconstruction of the Overbrook Line. Rail tracks that for decades shared the same right-of-way with the South Busway have been removed along a portion of the busway’s alignment, allowing for improved busway operations. The busway was repaved and pedestrian bridges were constructed from some of the busway stops providing a direct connection to Route 51.
