Twenty-four ADA-accessible, high-level platform stations, four downtown subway stations and 37 stops with street-level boarding (not wheelchair accessible) provide convenient access to the 25-mile light rail transit system. The stations are equipped with passenger amenities, such as bike racks, electronic message boards, public address system, public telephones and benches.
Catching the T is easy, as stops and stations are conveniently located along major streets within several residential communities and many provide the option for passengers to park and ride.
The stations and stops along the T are located near the communities’ business districts and offer a quick and convenient walk to services and retail outlets, such as banks, day care centers, schools, parks, grocery and convenient stores and housing.
While waiting for the T in the downtown subway, you will hear the sweet strains of classical music which we call "PPG Classics On The Go." It is sponsored by a grant from the PPG Industries Foundation in cooperation with WQED-FM. "PPG Classics On The Go" features the world-renowned Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as well as selections from WQED-FM’s own programming, concentrating on Pittsburgh artists.
