Port Authority publicly solicits proposals for purchases for events, supplies, services, equipment, construction, and professional service that are anticipated to be in excess of $50,000. Advertisements for most of these events are placed in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and the New Pittsburgh Courier as well as trade journals when appropriate. Approximately 115 such contracts are advertised and subsequently awarded by the Port Authority Board each year.
