Virtual Public Meeting #1 - August 24, 2020
Virtual Public Meeting #2 - September 24, 2020
The 2010 West Busway Transit-Oriented Development Assessment and Plan called for a new parking garage at Carnegie Station. Additional recommendations included first level retail space, upper floor space for offices for educational and cultural institutions, and new residential units along Logan Street.
Port Authority has secured Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ) funding to help pay for construction of a new parking garage to expand the park and ride at Carnegie Station, providing an additional 200 parking spaces for this high-demand location.
While the CMAQ funding may not cover the cost of construction of the additional recommendations provided in the 2010 assessment, this project presents an opportunity for Port Authority to partner with a developer to do transit-oriented developement on a portion of the site in addition to building the parking garage.
Ultimately, building the garage allows for the opportunity to reconfigure the site to better connect both the parking garage and Carnegie Station to Downtown Carnegie.
The final concept master plan will consist of two phases.
